The Parietal Lobe is one of the four major lobes of the cerebral cortex in the brain. It is located near the center of the brain, behind the frontal lobe and above the temporal lobe. The parietal lobe plays a crucial role in processing sensory information from various parts of the body, including touch, temperature, pain, and spatial awareness.

It includes the primary Somatosensory Cortex, the area responsible for processing tactile information from the body. The parietal lobe also integrates sensory input to form a coherent understanding of the environment, allowing us to navigate and interact with the world around us.

Structure and Function

Part of the cerebral cortex, the parietal lobe is divided into two main regions; the anterior region, which contains the primary Somatosensory Cortex, and the posterior region, which is involved in integrating sensory information and spatial reasoning.
