Yes, I know, yet another autistic idea relating to On Capturing Personal Data. But this one is a bit more different. Last night while thinking about advancing this project idea, I had the thought of using this data I have been collecting not only for Health and Longevity optimization, but for actually mapping out my mind as a whole.
Thinking about it, this is somewhat what I have already started to do wtih obsidian, only that it is for mapping my brain outputs rather than the inputs.
That actually brings me back to the reason for all of this: I use my computer for just about everything, it is safe to say my computer is my life. If I can map out everything I do from it, both the inputs and outputs, I have a reasonable path forward for both understanding and modeling my mind, but also for optmiziing it. I have had some silly ideas for an Internet Consumption a Loss Gradient For Mind Optimization, but I am not guarenteeing that it is an idea that will bare any fruits.
For this, I found ActivityWatch. It is a godsend piece of software. It works right out of the box, is completely local and open source, and has support for just about everything in my toolchain (obsidian, neovim, firefox). It is extremely easy to integrate into my monorepo and homelab, as it has both an API and several configuration options for a server/other devices on the network.
