I was thinking of making a proper program that asked me every day to enter a certain number for the habits that I wanted to track, like hours of sleep, number of cups of coffee, and others. Not really for health reasons, but just for the sake of data science, and to see how my habits would change over time. If I wanted to do something for Health, then I would just get an apple watch or something similar lol.

What my plan is for this is to encourage myself to actually take daily notes every day, along with all the writing I have been doing. Not only that, but then I could make a program for parsing these daily notes, and making cool plots like those github calendar plots:

06-17-2026 Update

this has actually been stale for a bit now, just didnt update this note. The reason being that habit tracking in the daily note does not preserve important information about that tracked habit - things like WHEN i checked off habit. For example, the timeseries information of when I take supplements or substances matters deeply for seeing its exact effect of my cognitive output like ActivityWatch.
