Prokaryotic Cells are a type of Cell that lack a membrane-bound nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. They are typically smaller and simpler in structure than eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotic cells are found in two main domains of life: Bacteria and Archaea.
Unlike Eukaryotic Cells, prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Instead, their genetic material is located in a region called the nucleoid, which is not enclosed by a membrane. Prokaryotic cells also lack other membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus.
