Longevity is the practice and habits of wanting to extend one’s own lifespans by taking health seriously, in a way that you are not just prioritizing health for the sake of not being ill and not getting sick, but to live life to the fullest. Many longevity leaders in the world, like Brian Johnson, see it as a self-fulfilling cycle, in that by pursuing longevity, you actually find your life more enjoyable when you live life for its own meaning in trying to be healthy. This sounds a bit weird, but the best way to describe it is by living a healthy and fruitful life, by getting good sleep and eating good and practicing good habits, you find yourself self-actualized and happier in such a way that the things you do to extend and prolong your life make your life that you’re living right now all the more enjoyable.

What is Different about Longevity?

Beyond just the idea of living a long life, longevity is about optimizing your healthspan, which is the period of your life that you are healthy and free from chronic diseases. The goal is to not only extend lifespan but also to ensure that the additional years are lived in good health and vitality.

The Undeniable Connection to Transhumanism

Many transhumanists see longevity as a crucial step towards achieving their goals of transcending human limitations and achieving a post-human state.
