2024 has by far been the most eventful year in my life, both in terms of tangible events and trends that affected me, but also for the deep, saturated changes in my own sense of self and life.

2024 has been just as much of a terrible year as it has been a great one.

My Neverending Health Issues

Many of you know that I suffered a lung collapse quite a few years ago. And while I am happy to say all of those problems are long gone and resolved, it’s unfortunate to realize how so many other, just as bad health problems have sprung up in it’s place.

This has manifested as a problem with my sternum and ribcage. Essentially, something is out of place with my skeleton, and it causes me great pain to do just about any kind of movement. And if that wasn’t annoying, not a single doctor seems to know whats really wrong with me, despite countless X-rays and CT-scans.

Changes Finally Coming

A big thing I struggled with at the beginning of the year was a sense of work ethic. Purpose has never been a problem for me, and I consider myself above the average when it comes to knowing what you want to do with your life. But despite this, I struggled with actually getting work done in class. I was great at studying what I loved, and would do an absurd amount of self-education in my free time. But come the classroom, I would almost always slack off just because I could and get away with a mediocre but solid grade. But this is not a way to live life.

But later in the year I finally started to get my act together when it comes to note-taking. That is a bit of an understatement, as I frankly fell in love with writing and documenting everything. The benefits of obsidian really started to show for me, where I felt a genuine desire to write down more and expand beyond just class notes and journaling.
