Zinc gluconate at 570mg delivers ~80mg elemental Zn2+. The DAT-modulating properties are the primary reason for the dose: zinc binds to the dopamine transporter and both enhances reverse transport and inhibits reuptake, which translates to meaningful potentiation of Lisdexamfetamine and other psychostimulants. Also a voltage-dependent NMDA receptor antagonist, which causes mild dissociation for the first 1-2 weeks (slightly floaty/detached); tolerance to this develops completely, leaving only the beneficial effects. nAChR antagonism also contributes to that initial window.

Secondary mechanisms: immune cofactor (>300 enzymes, T-cell function, cold prevention) and mild antidepressant via NMDA antagonism and anti-inflammatory effects. Chronic high-dose zinc competes with copper for absorption , worth monitoring copper levels periodically or supplementing 1-2mg copper.

Initial dissociation resolves in 1-2 weeks. Monitor copper levels with long-term use.
