“Cube with magic ribbons” is a lithograph created by M.C. Escher in 1957. I encountered it in a dialogue between the The Tortoise and Achilles when reading Gödel, Escher, Bach.
While the main theme from GEB about this piece was the sort of suction cups on the ribbons, the first thing I noticed was that the ribbons themselves were Mobius Strips, but thanks to the interesting interlock between the two strips, I felt more like it was a sort of “Mobius Plane” if that makes any sense.
